New trend in environmental protection: optimizing the paper to coating ratio of water-based and PLA coated paper bowls to enhance sustainability
Nov 20 , 2023New trend in environmental protection: optimizing the paper to coating ratio of water-based and PLA coated paper bowls to enhance sustainability
With the increasing global attention to environmental issues, tableware manufacturers are also constantly seeking more environmentally friendly and sustainable production methods. Recently, Xiamen Glaman Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. has made significant breakthroughs in the manufacturing technology of water-based coated paper bowls. This technology improves the environmental performance of paper bowls by optimizing the ratio of paper to coating.
It is understood that in a 750ml water-based coated rectangular paper bowl, the material used for the bowl body is 320g FSCPaper+10g Aqueous coating (Michelman), and the material used for the bowl bottom is 250g FSCPaper+Inner coated 10g Aqueous coating+Outer coated 8g Aqueous coating. The weight of the paper in the body of the bowl is 11.57952g, and the weight of the coating is 0.36186g. The weight of the paper in the bottom of the bowl is 4.28325g, and the weight of the coating is 0.308394g. We know that the proportion of paper is: total weight of paper/weight of paper bowl, and the proportion of coating is: total weight of coating/weight of paper bowl. From this, it can be concluded that the proportion of paper in the 750ml rectangular paper bowl is as high as 95.95%, while the proportion of water-based coating is only 4.05%.
This paper bowl has made a significant breakthrough in manufacturing technology, which is a powerful challenge to traditional coated paper bowls. This paper bowl uses FSC forest certification system paper and international cutting-edge water-based coating technology to produce environmentally friendly bowl paper, breaking through the problem of traditional paper bowls (PE coated) being non recyclable and non degradable. The water-based coated paper bowl has the characteristics of being pulp, recyclable, and degradable, which is more conducive to reducing carbon emissions. PLA coated paper bowls are also biodegradable and compostable, but their degradation performance is not as good as water-based coated paper bowls. At the same time, PLA coated paper bowls are difficult to recycle and reuse, resulting in resource waste.
The success of this innovative research marks another breakthrough in environmental protection in the paper bowl manufacturing industry. According to industry insiders, with the increasing demand for environmentally friendly products from consumers and the government's promotion of environmental policies, the future paper bowl manufacturing industry will pay more attention to the environmental performance of products to meet market demand.
Overall, this new type of paper bowl has significant environmental advantages compared to traditional coated paper bowls, such as recyclability, biodegradability, and in pulp, undoubtedly providing us with a more environmentally friendly and sustainable dietary choice. We look forward to more environmentally friendly technologies and products appearing in our lives, helping us protect our planet together.
